Synopsis

Love the music—never the man.

At twenty years-old, Sabrina Caroline was America’s sweetheart pop star, until she took a year off to treat her social phobia. Don't worry, her cut-throat-manager/mom paid top dollar to keep it quiet. Now as part of her comeback, she’s forced into collaboration with one of the hottest rock bands topping the charts—Birds of Prey—whose lead guitarist happens to be her biggest mistake…and her biggest regret.

Hawke Owens never imagined Birds of Prey would surpass the basement of the Duncan High School for Performing Arts, let alone score them a European tour. But success has its price, and for him, it’s being forced to work with the only girl who shattered his heart—Sabrina Caroline. She’s everything that he remembers and more, every memory and fantasy come to life. At first touch, their connection is electric, but it’s also as strong as her determination to follow her number one rule—she doesn’t date rock stars…even though she’s become one.

Loving her again is as natural as holding his guitar, but she’s destroyed him once, and this time the stakes are higher, more public, and the consequences life-altering. Against the backdrop of the birth of MTV, they’ll have to choose between the demands of their label, and the demands of the heart.

5-Stars Review

I absolutely loved this book! Everything is amazing, the characters, the story, the way it's written, and most of all the romance. This novella is as good as any full length novel. The story is quite interesting and engaging. Once I started reading I simply couldn't put it down. I recommend it to all readers.

Hawke and Brie (Sabrina) were in love when they were sixteen, now they can barely tolerate each other. Both of them has fame and success now. At twenty one years old they are at the top of the music world, one rock star and one pop star. When they are forced to work together things become a little messy. Apparently there love isn't a thing of past. They still have feelings for each other. Only if they could move past their misgivings about each other they might make their "dream" love story a reality.

This book is beautifully written, it portrays the passion, compassion, drama, and all kind of human emotions very well. I'm glad that I got the chance to read this amazing love story from 80's. :)

Excerpt
He took my face in his hands and leaned in until he was all I could see, all I could feel, and smell. How easily he consumed me with a simple touch. “There have been too many women. Too many meaningless encounters. Too many faces. But there’s only been one name in my mouth, and it’s always been yours. Only yours.”

His mouth met mine without preamble, and before I could protest, I was lost to the feel of his lips on mine.

It was so familiar, yet new. When his tongue stroked the seam of my lips, I opened for him, and reveled in his groan as he sank into the kiss. I found the support beam against my back as he pressed against me, our bodies aligning with the fit I’d always remembered as perfect.

It was still just as exquisite.

His hand stroked down the side of my body, a path of fire igniting in his wake until he gripped one of my hips, pulling me even closer to him. With the other, he tilted my head for a deeper assault, exploring the recesses of my mouth, lingering like he didn’t already know every part of me.

It was the best second first kiss in the history of kisses.

I arched, pushing my breasts against his chest, and looped my arms around his neck. Then I kissed him back with every ounce of passion I’d missed these last three years. I kissed him the way I’d fantasized about since I walked out, with tiny nips and fuller, lingering caresses. When that wasn’t enough, I sucked his tongue back into my mouth and reveled in his groan of surrender.

He still wanted me, and that knowledge was more intoxicating than any alcohol, more high-inducing than any drug.

His hand shifted, running under my dress until he met bare skin where my garters attached to my stockings. “Holy shit, Brie. You’re going to be the death of me.”

He squeezed my bare thigh, and I lifted my leg, semi-wrapping it around his hip.

I’d almost forgotten how powerful it was to kiss Hawke, how it consumed every sense, every thought, until I was just a jumble of feelings and need. It was never just a kiss, it was a full-body experience that blocked out the rest of the world.

A moan escaped my lips as his set to my neck, and my head rolled back against the beam. He hit the spot right above my collarbone and I whimpered.

“I love that sound,” he murmured, then gently sucked that patch of skin so he could hear it again.

“Hey guys—whoa!” Chad’s voice penetrated my haze of desire.

“Go the fuck away,” Hawke said, moving so I was covered from Chad’s gaze. “Yeah, well, I would—I mean, good for you guys, and it’s about damn time—but

Oscar Oswald is here and he’s asking for us.”

I pushed gently against Hawke’s chest. If Oscar Oswald was here, it could mean huge things for their career. He was the biggest name going in rock. “You need to see what he wants.”

Review: Just Once by Rebecca Brooke

Just Once

A chance encounter changes everything.

After the loss of his closest friend, and with a scheduled deployment closing in, the last thing Army Ranger Colin Dunham wants is to start any new relationship. But Joey, with her gorgeous eyes and blunt honesty, grabs Colin’s attention from the moment he catches her watching him from across the bar. He knows one night is all they can have. This mysteriously addictive girl ends up taking over every one of his dreams and nightmares, though, crossing the line of another night he’d rather forget. As dreams become reality, Colin steps in to protect Joey from a threat he never imagined. And when tables turn, it’s Joey who must protect him. Circumstances are never what they seem.

Can just one night lead them to the other side of heartache?

4-Stars Review

It's a great book. I loved the story and all the characters. Although a little more depressing than I initially thought. ;) It tells a story of two army officers who are deployed in Afghanistan. Joey and Colin met once before, they had an instant connection but neither wanted to start a relationship just before deployment. Now they are here, on a mission together. When they got hurt the recovery took a lot more than either of them could have anticipated. Since they are perfect for each other and clearly on love maybe they will find their way back to each other....

Joey is a pilot and works for the army. She has always had difficulty maintaining a relationship. Guys find her profession a little intimidating. Also it's difficult because she stays away for months when she is deployed. So when she meets Colin she doesn't tell him about her profession and just wanted to see where this will all lead....

Colin is still not over loosing a comrade, his friend Nate, who dies in front of him and he couldn't save him. Now he is having nightmares about that night. So when his friends try to cheer him up, he went along. Then he meets Joey. She is perfect and he doesn't want to start a relationship at this time. So nothing could come out of it. But when he sees her again, he simply cannot resist it and they both decided to see where things will go once they get to know each other....

I liked it a lot. It is a good read and I'd recommend it to all book lovers who don't mind reading about battle fields, and the scars they leave behind.

5-Stars Review

I enjoyed reading it, it is a fun & entertaining story about two rival businesses. I also liked both Nick and Erin. The chemistry between them is perfect. And their encounters are always interesting. The book held my interest from the very beginning until the end. And ending is also perfect. This is a must read for romance lovers no doubt in that.

Two business rivals struck a wager. The one who wins will win the contract for the biggest wedding they will ever host. Winning this contract is important to both Erin and Nick. Their families have hated each other for a long time. They have been competing to prove their respective businesses to be the best. Now it's up to these two to prove once and for all that which business is the best in area,

What started as simple wager turns out to be far more complicated than either of them had anticipated. The more time they spent together the more they understand each other. What drives them, and soon they find themselves falling in love. But for Erin and Nick happily ever after is not in the cards. There are too many things at stake...

There are many laugh-out-loud moments in this book. I loved all the characters. It is a delightful read!

About the author

Barbara DeLeo’s first book, co-written with her best friend, was a story about beauty queens in space. She was eleven, and the sole, handwritten copy was lost years ago, much to everyone’s relief. It’s some small miracle that she kept the faith and is now living her dream of writing sparkling contemporary romance with unforgettable characters.

After completing degrees in Psychology and English then travelling the world, Barbara married her winemaker hero and had two sets of twins.

She still loves telling stories about finding love in all the wrong places, with not a beauty queen or spaceship in sight.

Review: The Bad Boy's Baby (Hope Springs #3) by Cindi Madsen

The Bad Boy's Baby

Synopsis

There are certain words that have always described Cam Brantley: Town bad boy. Soldier. Protector. But never, ever dad. Until he returns home from his latest military tour to discover the girl he had one smoking-hot night with is now mom to the adorable two-year-old Zoey. Who has his eyes.

Plenty of words could describe Emma Walker these days. Mom, dutiful granddaughter, budding designer, the town’s golden child. But when her longtime crush Cam Brantley comes back to town, she knows the perfect word to describe herself: screwed.

Cam and Emma are both shocked to discover he truly wants Zoey in his life. But Cam’s not sure he’s ready to be a dad, and Emma can’t gamble her daughter on maybes. As the long-simmering heat between Cam and Emma reaches a boiling point, he’ll have to work past his demons in order to be the man both girls need.
Daddy duty might be his toughest mission yet…

4.5 Stars Review

I loved the story. It's a fun read. Both Cam & Emma are amazing characters. I liked how the developed their relationship, slowly, taking their time and having fun along the way. It is and interesting book which I'd recommend to all romance lovers.

Cam and Emma had a one night together and then Cam was deployed. Emma never got a chance to tell him about his daughter. Now he is back in town and Emma must find a way to tell him. She just hopes that he tries to be a dad. Although she knows all about his views on having children.

Cam never thought he would ever father a child but knowing that he has a daughter changes everything. He is more than willing to try having a relationship with his daughter. He wants to be in Zoey's life. There is no way he would let his daughter grow up knowing that her dad didn't want her.

But Zoey is not the only important person here. He also has feelings for her mother. Even though they didn't know each other well, but now that they are spending time together they realise they are attracted to each other. Chemistry between them is off the charts, they also have a daughter together so it seems natural to give themselves a chance.. But will they be able to get over their past lives, future dreams, and present hopes is different matter entirely...

Review: The Seduction of Kinley Foster by Lisa Wells

The Seduction of Kinley Foster

Synopsis

Librarian Kinley Foster wants to write erotic romance—the steamy, sexy, curl-your-toes kind of stuff. The problem? She desperately needs a little erotic inspiration. And at a romance convention in Vegas, she finds it...or rather him. The sizzlingly sexy guy who refused Kinley—and her virginity—when she was sixteen.

Now it's time for a little payback.

Literary agent Ian Thompson is a professional. Mentoring an aspiring author is one thing. Giving her a thorough and thoroughly satisfying sexy education is quite another. Especially when she's as stunning and deliciously curvaceous as Kinley. Yet Ian can't help himself when Kinley makes him a wager he can't resist. A wager that will tempt Ian to cross every professional—and every sensual—boundary in the book...

5-Stars Review

Wow, this is one hot romance novel. I loved the story, characters, and pretty much everything about this book. Chemistry between Kinley and Ian is off the charts.

Kinley is a erotic romance writer. She is in Vegas to attend romance writers' convention. Ian is there to keep an eye on her, or at least that's what her brother thinks. But she is a grown woman and does not need someone to keep her out of trouble, or she thinks. But on this trip she is about to learn a lot of new things.

Ian hopes that Kinley has forgiven him for what happen ten years ago. But apparently she isn't the forgiving type. In any case this trip is not about the past. He has made a promise to his best friend so he'll take care of her for as long as she is in Vegas and then they will both go their separate ways, probably never see each other again. Unfortunately things do not go as planned. And now they are both in trouble...

Will they admit their love for each other or keep pretending otherwise?
There are many laugh-out-loud moments in this book, some very touching, heartbreaking scenes, and extremely romantic ones too. I enjoyed reading it and hope that others do too. It's the best romance novel (on the more steamy side) I've read in a while. I'd definitely recommend it to all readers.

Against all odds BW

One of Five Arc’s for 1984: Against All Odds by Rebecca Yarros

My hands sliding up her legs, I rose and kissed her glossed lips. “You taste like heaven.”

“You,” she whispered, her fingers playing with my buckle.

“No,” I said, grasping both her wrists in my hand. “That was for you. Thank you for trusting me.”

“But you have to go on stage, and you’re…” she gestured toward my pants as she stood, shimmying her dress back down her supple thighs.

“Hard as hell?” I forced a laugh and rearranged my dick so it wouldn’t be quite as noticeable.

She looked in the mirror. “And I look like I just…”

“Came on my mouth?” I suggested.

She arched an eyebrow, but didn’t back down. “Yes.”

I wrapped my arms around her waist and brought her against my chest, bare except for the open leather jacket. “I have no problem with the world knowing that I get on my knees for you. I’m the envy of every man on the planet.”

Rebecca Yarros is a hopeless romantic and lover of all things chocolate, coffee, and Paleo. In addition to being a mom, military wife, and blogger, she can never choose between Young Adult and New Adult fiction, so she writes both. She’s a graduate of Troy University, where she studied European history and English, but still holds out hope for an acceptance letter to Hogwarts.
