Review: Winter Moon: A Grazi Kelly Novel #4 by C.D. Gorri

Winter Moon: A Grazi Kelly Novel #4

Synopsis

"It was difficult to remember the girl I used to be when my Wolf instincts were at the forefront as they were now. I closed my eyes and counted backwards. A little calming technique Cara had told me in one of the rare moments during our training when she was not out for my blood. It was a useful tool. When I opened my eyes I could think more clearly. The footsteps were closer and any second their bearers would break from the stand of trees into the small clearing where I was being held.
I braced myself, but nothing could have prepared me for the sight that came next. Angela’s fiery red hair broke through the tree line followed by a tall mystery guy with dark hair and a limp Wolf in his arms. I knew that Wolf. It was Ronan.¶

It's St. Lucy's Day and the battle has begun! With her friends by her side, Maria Graziana Kelly has more than enough fire power to fight the Demon minions. But will she be able to reunite with her one true love? Will Grazi find out what it really means to be a Werewolf? Can she save her brother before it's too late? Find out in Winter Moon!

5-Star Review

I loved this book. it is packed with action and kept me interested until the very end. I love Grazi Kelly's novels, each one is better than the previous and this one is just the best. The story flows smoothly and all the characters are simply amazing. This is the best paranormal novel I've read this year. A must read for all book lovers!

Grazi is in danger, in fact the whole world is in danger. The evil witches are planning to take over and it seems that they might succeed this time. Unless Grazi and her friends can save themselves and the world. Time is short and they need to act quickly otherwise all will be lost...

This is a thrilling read. Everything happens fast and it is a quick, enjoyable read. I have loved Grazi since book one and her story just kept getting better and better. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did. Happy reading! :)

5-Stars Review

I loved it. It is a very well written book. Characters are also well developed and lovable. Story flow smoothly and overall this book is quite entertaining. There are some scenes in this book that are just epic! And the best thing about this book is that characters start as a little awkward but grow into themselves as the story progressed. It is very romantic and humorous book which I enjoyed reading a lot. In my opinion it's a must read for romance lovers.

Arabella has a list, daring things she wants to do before the summer ends. She is ready to tick all these things. It is her chance to prove that she is a confident woman. Charlie is on the list. He is the man she has a huge crush on since her early teens and it's time she gets his attention. Determined she approaches him during an event where her father is supposed to come at any time. So she must make haste...

Charlie is used to women hitting on him. Media has given him a bad reputation but the truth is that he dreads such encounters. So when a sweet, innocent and very beautiful woman approaches him he is a little taken aback, She doesn't seem like the women he often has to fend off. After an awkward incident they share a kiss and the next moment she is gone....

Later it turns out that his kiss-and-run beauty is also his CEO's daughter. Now he is in trouble. On one hand it will be extremely difficult to resist her but on the other hand he is her babysitter for the summer and supposed to look after her. But when he realises that she is also into him then all bets are off. They will enjoy whatever little time they have and then move on. What they forget to consider is that the things usually don't quite go as planned....

Fun, romantic and extremely entertaining book, I'm glad I got the chance to read it as it's my new favourite. :)

Excerpt

Heart fluttering like a hummingbird, Ella picked her way across the stones, the steps still warm from the day’s brutal sun. She lowered herself, one concrete step at a time, until the tepid water lapped against the undersides of her breasts. She gasped at the sensation.
If she’d thought the biker bar felt decadent, this was positively wicked. Never in her wildest dreams had Arabella considered checking skinny-dipping off her list in this way, with neighbors potentially watching, and a naked Charlie Tucker as a wingman.
He tensed as she glided across the pool, the muscles of his back like chiseled marble. She’d love to believe it was because of her, that he longed to touch her as badly as she wanted to be touched. But she knew him well enough to know that even if he did, he’d never act on the desire. Not unless his guard was down.
So, Arabella did what any self-respecting woman in her situation would do. She dipped her hands into the water on either side of her body, gently cupping them so as not to make any sudden waves. She grinned as she bent her knees for leverage…and then, stifling a laugh, swung her hands high and up into the air.
Splash.
Charlie cursed as water rained, falling like a sheet over his head. His neck snapped back, flicking his unruly dark hair out of his eyes, and his shoulders raised to meet his ears.
Immediately, Arabella started backpedaling.
Fans of romantic comedies, and anyone who swam with boys in high school, knew what came next. She’d awoken the sleeping bad-boy giant, or so she hoped, but somehow, even as she kicked away as hard as she could, she couldn’t excite the proper trepidation. She wanted this, wanted him to come after her.
But she had to make the chase look realistic.
“Oh, you think you’re funny, don’t you?” Charlie’s smile was as big and dangerous as a bloodthirsty alligator, and Ella squealed as he took his first looming step. “You better run, sweet girl. It’s on now.”
Arabella kicked her feet, shooting water in his face. “Bring it, Tucker!”
Please, please, bring it, Tucker.

Review: Promises in the Dark by Racena McConnell

In time, it will develop into something much greater than either could have ever imagined. The pair have each had their share of tragedy and heartbreak that time has yet to heal. When these mysterious occurrences begin to invade their happiness, they are faced with the reality that they must find the truth about what haunts them. Will they survive as they uncover some of these long-kept secrets? Will these mystical forces that linked the lovers together so long ago be the same to destroy them in the end?

5-Stars Review

I have read a lot of books, I've read books I loved, books I cried over, books that have awed me, books I adored, books I hated, those I couldn't even stand to finish reading, in short I have had a lot of different reading experiences and I cherish them all. This book, though, was an entirely unique experience for me. I loved the writing style, the story was good two, characters were just amazing, but what made it unique was the way it flowed, so smoothly and naturally, it was simply beautiful. It was so real for me that I felt everything the characters were going through. It was almost surreal. I very much enjoyed reading it and I will be reading more from this author. I love it when I find someone new, a hidden-jem of an author. ;)

Rachel is an author, she has been divorced for a couple of years now but her ex-husband left scars that have not healed yet. Derek has his own scars, he is a widower who is not yet over his wife. They both are fighting their pasts in their own ways. What started as a friendship between the two soon turns into something much more. As unlikely as it seems but sometimes two broken souls make a perfect whole. It's their journey, it's a story which will keep you captivated from the beginning until the very end. Now I can't wait to read book 2.

Tour Stop + Giveaway: Roomhate by Penelope Ward

Swoon-worthy Justin Banks is FINALLY HERE in
 RoomHate by Penelope Ward!

AVAILABLE ON ALL RETAILERS:

 Blurb
From New York Times Bestselling Author, Penelope Ward, comes a new standalone novel.

Sharing a summer house with a hot-as-hell roommate should be a dream come true, right?

Not when it’s Justin…the only person I’d ever loved…who now hates me.

When my grandmother died and left me half of the house on Aquidneck Island, there was a catch: the other half would go to the boy she helped raise.

The same boy who turned into the teenager whose heart I broke years ago.

The same teenager who’s now a man with a hard body and a hardass personality to match.

I hadn’t seen him in years, and now we’re living together because neither one of us is willing to give up the house.

The worst part? He didn’t come alone.

I’d soon realize there’s a thin line between love and hate. I could see through that smug smile. Beneath it all…the boy is still there. So is our connection.

The problem is…now that I can’t have Justin, I’ve never wanted him more.

Author's note – RoomHate is a full-length standalone novel. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

His eyes darted to the side, and he noticed me standing there. We just stared at each other. It was ironic, but the only times I could ever feel the remnants of our old connection were in fleeting moments of silent eye contact. Sometimes moments of silence spoke the loudest.
I left him alone again, making my way back down the hall and into the restaurant to tend to the customers I’d been ignoring.
Things really started to get busy. Without Jade working tonight, we were short-staffed, and I was having a hard time keeping up with the orders. Sandy’s had indoor and outdoor seating. Normally, I would only be working one section, but tonight I was going back and forth between the two.
It was nice out, so I knew they would have Justin performing outside. I kept glancing over to the small stage to see if he was there. It was past eight, and he hadn’t made an appearance yet.
Sometime close to eight-thirty, I was in the middle of serving a large party of ten when I first heard it: the chilling sound of a soulful voice that was not familiar in the least. He gave no introduction. No warning. He just started to sing out the first few words, followed by the strum of his guitar. The song that Justin had chosen to start with was a cover of Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers.
The entire room soon quieted down, and all eyes were on the stunning blond male specimen with the spotlight shining down on him. Despite the fact that I was carrying a large round tray of dirty dishes, I couldn’t move. The vibration of his thick, smoky singing voice had completely paralyzed me, penetrating my body and soul.
Aside from the lone teardrop that fell the night he lost it on me during steak dinner, I hadn’t shed any more tears—until now. It was all too much. Hearing how different his voice sounded, how he’d trained it over the years, was a wake-up call as to how much I had missed. All of the hours of practice that must have gone into honing that beautiful voice, and I wasn’t there for any of it. The guilt, the emotions, the reality of a decade gone…everything started to pummel me at once. Not to mention the song—about a girl leaving. It probably had nothing to do with me, but in my mind, it sure as hell felt like it did.

Blitz + Review + Giveaway: Hopeless Vows by Rachael Duncan

Title: Hopeless Vows
Author: Rachael Duncan
Genre: Contemporary Romance Standalone
Release Date: February 22, 2016
Photographer: Perrywinkle Photography
Cover Designer: Cover Me Darling

It was a modern take on an arranged marriage that was supposed to lead to my happily ever after. The rules were simple:

1. Marry a complete stranger chosen for you by professionals.
2. Live together as man and wife for eight weeks while cameras record your every move.
3. Make a decision to stay together or get a divorce.

Call me crazy, but I had complete faith in the process, until I saw who was waiting for me at the end of the aisle.
Austin James has never met me, but that doesn’t mean I don’t know him. With no other choice, I say my vows and pray I can make it through the next eight weeks. Then I’ll leave. What connects us is my best kept secret, and I’ll protect it at all costs even if that means walking away from the only person I’ve ever cared about.

5-Stars Review

Hopeless Vows is an emotional roller coaster. One of the best romance novel I've ever read. Story is quite interesting. I love all the characters as well. It kept me engrossed from the very beginning until the end. There are some twists and turns along the way which keeps it enjoyable. Some things are as expected but there are quite a few surprises too.

Jillian is taking part in a social experiment. She plans to marry a total stranger and let her life be recorded for a reality TV show. Obviously her best friends things this is a very bad idea. She will know nothing about her husband and very well end up getting hurt. But Jillian believes in this, she knows that it is time to settle down and have one thing she has always wanted to have; a family. So she is willing to put her doubts aside and take a leap of faith.

As soon as Austin sees his bride to be he feels lucky. They paired him well. He thinks they can make their marriage work. And when he gets to spend more time with her his belief solidifies. She gets his humour, she is hot. He finds himself falling for his wife. But will they be able to make this work or have they spoken "hopeless vows"?

For me it has been one of those books where you are so into the story that you laugh with the characters and you cry with them, so if you plan to read this book do keep a box of tissues near by, that's all I'm going to say. ;)
"This is the first book I've read by Rachael Duncan, but it won't be my last. I absolutely loved this book from start to finish." - A.M. Madden, Amazon and Barnes & Noble Best Selling Romance Author
"I can't rate Hopeless Vows high enough and I honestly feel like this will be Rachael's breakthrough novel that will take her places and have her name known all around this community. Brilliant job!" -Swoon Worthy Book Blog
"I haven't had a book hangover in so long and after reading Hopeless Vows, I did. This book is beyond good." -Joanne Schwehm, author of the Prescott Series
"What did I think? I'm honestly not sure I can convey what I think right now. I feel like no matter what words I put down that it won't do this book justice." - Books, Chocolate, and Lipgloss
"Jillian and Austin literally sizzled on the pages. The chemistry was palpable. The characters were well-developed and the plot was so much more than I thought it would be." -Casey L. Bond, author of The Sin Series
"I love the way her writing balances sexiness, humor and hurt, and I find myself able to relate to her characters, no matter how outlandish or unconventional their circumstances." -Give Me Books
"As an author, it's hard for me to find a book that is unpredictable for me. Usually, I can see twists and turns coming from a mile away, but Rachael had a couple for me I never saw coming." -JB McGee, Best Selling Author

The longer this experiment goes on, the more I fall for him, and the more the deceit eats at me. When I lie awake some nights, it crawls up my body, tickling my skin, reminding me that underneath, I’m a horrible human being.
Deceitful.
Cowardly.
Manipulative.
Selfish.
All negative adjectives, and all describe me.
He’ll never find out, taunts an inner voice. What’s worse is that it also tells me it’s okay to keep this from him. That the two of us can live out this fantasy unscathed and content. As delusional as my inner voice is, I find myself clinging to it like a leech, feasting on the lie.

Excerpt

Ducking into the darkened hallway, he quickly sized up the options. With the sound of quickened footsteps behind him, he wrapped his hand around the handle and darted behind the heavy door.
What happened next he couldn’t have predicted.
And again, he was somewhat of a reluctant expert on crazy women.
Not five seconds after the marked door closed, it pushed open again. Charlie’s gaze collided with the brunette’s in the mirror. She blinked a few times, adjusting her eyes to the bright lights, and her lips pursed in confusion as she spied the row of porcelain sinks under the mirrors. She looked beyond his shoulder to the line of urinals attached to the wall, and her mouth dropped open in a sound he assumed only dogs could hear. And then…
“Oh. My. God!”
A voice like honey, smooth and thick and echoing off the tile floor, curled around him as any sense of bravado faded, and the woman slapped a hand over her eyes. Blindly, she spun around to leave…and accidentally rammed headfirst into the solid oak doorframe. They both winced.
Red flags wilting, alarm bells silencing, intuition told Charlie that the woman wasn’t as dangerous as he’d once thought. With the determined slope of her shoulders now slumped, she seemed mostly mortified, so he tried to do the gentlemanly thing.
Strolling forward, he went to help her with the door. “Here, let me.”
Only, she turned at the same time, following the sound of his voice, and her forehead crashed into his chin.
Shit.
“Holy mother of crud nuggets!”
A surprised laugh broke past the stinger. “What did you just say?”
Slowly, the brunette opened her fingers and peeked at him through the slats. Her wide brown eyes were wet and filled with too many emotions to name, but one was for sure embarrassment. Behind them, the men’s bathroom door opened again, and a balding gentleman lumbered through. He stopped short after two steps, taking in first the woman, then Charlie, and then her again, before glancing at the sign posted on the door. With a dismissive shrug, he continued on, strolling straight into the corner stall.
The beauty’s fingers slammed closed again.
“Only me,” she whimpered. “This would only happen to me.”
