Now, David must parent two hurting children from a dark world he doesn’t understand and keep his family from falling apart. All while dealing with the realization that everyone he loves, including himself, may be evil.
Review
Another 5-star read!! Fantasy is my most favourite genre and well, who doesn't like witches and wizards? ;) The best part of the book was its beginning. It started in a way that one would not be able to put it down. There was a lot of mystery and intrigue and a want to find out what will come next. And it will not disappoint the readers because what will come is quite exceptional. One unique thing about this book is that you can't put it into a box with "adult book" or "young adult book". It cannot be defined that way. As it involves main characters including adults and teenagers as well. So in that respect, I think, people from all ages can enjoy it equally.
David just found out about his lost kids and he is scared to tell the truth to his wife. She will be mad if she found out and demand a divorce, rightly so. But he cannot lose her, he may not be a one-woman man but he was most definitely a two-women man. After losing Crystal (mother of his lost children), he cannot imagine losing Amanda (his wife) too. But now that he is bringing his kids (a son and a daughter) home, there is no way to hide his secret affair, which happened eleven years ago.
Xavier and Evangeline have been abused by their stepfather and now that David has found them he wants to protect them at all costs. His other three children, Jude, Patrick and Emmy are not so welcoming towards their step siblings. To top it all of Evangeline claims to be a witch. May be it is some kind of coping mechanism, something she can use as a shield to all the abuse and difficulties they had faced in the home of their stepfather.
As soon as Amanda finds out that Evangeline is a witch she forbids her to use magic. This results in a confrontation between David and her. That's when she admits that she is a dark witch too, so is David and all of their children. After that bad things started happening as all the kids started practising magic. They did not care much for Amanda's no-magic rule. Teenagers simply cannot help themselves. they thought it was so cool to be able to use magic. The believed that even though they were dark wizards, they can be good but were they right or not is still to be determined...
The story is engaging and well written. It was interesting to begin with and ended well too. Although its part of a series but can be read as stand alone. I will recommend it to all fantasy/paranormal fiction lovers.

Review

Oh wow!! This series is like an emotional rollercoaster. It is so intense! I usually stay away from emotional books because I don't like crying but this one had me hooked right from the beginning until the end. I loved all the characters and the story surrounding them.
Book one ended on a cliffhanger and anticipation for the next book was too much. Fortunately, I got an advanced review copy and I cannot be more thankful ;) In this book Elle struggles to get her life back in order. It deals with Elle's journey, her battle with herself, her recovery and how she connects with other characters. Book 1.5 is from J's POV and its better if you read that before reading book 2. I love Elle and J's couple and I hope that they get the happily-ever-after which they deserve....
It was definitely a 5-star read. I loved how Elle's character developed in this book and also the effects, everything that happened, had on J. This was the most emotional part of the book. which will make any faint of heart cry. I don't want to give spoilers because trust me this is a series you will want to read yourself. I recommend it to all contemporary romance lovers.

Blog Tour + Giveaway+ Review of Fade In by M. Mabie

Fade In by M. Mabie

FadeInweb

Synopsis:

Tatum Elliot is a successful writer on a hit television show, lives in an Upper East Side apartment and loves her life. She wouldn’t change a thing. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have a choice. She's losing her sight. Tripping over her tongue and her heels, Tatum all too quickly realizes that the things which appeared so important before are slowly slipping away leaving room for what really matters. With the support of her best friends, family and colleagues, she begins to see that there’s much more to life… and herself. When Ben Harris enters her life as her new personal assistant, she can’t tell if it’s his good looks and charm that are working on her libido, or his kind and helpful nature working on her heart? Whatever it is, neither one of them can resist it. As her vision fades out, a world of love and happiness just might…Fade In. Fade In is a contemporary-romance novel about laughing through your tears and telling life to, quite frankly, “Suck it.” This novel contains sexual situations that the author may or may not have tried at home… for your safety, of course. Research is research.

Review:

A touching and humorous story about a girl who is slowly losing her sight and a guy who can help her deal with it. I loved Tatum and Ben. They've become one of my very favourite fictional couple. Overall this book is well written with a good plot and likable characters.
Tatum has a successful career and her life is not so bad either. Unfortunately she has a disease because of which she is loosing her eyesight. Her doctor advises her to un-complicate her life and get some help. She is absolutely against therapy. But decided to hire PA. She is an independent woman who does not like accepting help from others. She realises this when she broke up with him. But she doesn't regret it and they both think it to be the best decision for them.
On the day she was interviewing for personal assistant, Ben knocks on her door and although she thought he was overqualified and may be a little too sure of himself, still she hires him. Ben is a good guy and very helpful. Both are really attracted to each other and well we can imagine where that was headed.....
The book is so good that it made me emotional. There were a lot of laugh-out-loud moments. Its a heartwarming story which all romance lovers will enjoy immensely. I gave this book 5-Stars.

Excerpt:

I only met her briefly on one occasion, but she left a pockmark in my mind.  She was dynamite and she had an indefinitely long fuse that never stopped burning.  Those around her never knew when she would blowup, not looking away because she was a mess who was fun to watch.
I hope she's still like that when my mind drifts back to her through the years that pass by.
Maybe I should have shared the cab.  Got in with her.  Stayed with her.
I don't know.
Who ever really knows that it is the first time, the first time you meet?  It's only the first time after there's a second time.  Up until then, it's just an only.  One moment to the next could alter everything.
Every decision pushes you or pulls you where you're going in life.
At times, after running into her, when I felt like I was pushing everyday to do better, to get further, make a bigger difference, and like I was getting nowhere and I was just spinning my tires, I’d think of her.
She pulls life along.  That girl was making life keep up with her.
And that's too special to forget.

Excerpt

“I came here, baby, to tell you I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you.” He inhaled sharply, but said in an even voice. “And I can’t lose you before the greatest fight I will ever wage.”
Redemption. Could I absolve him? I lay in a hospital bed for two weeks. All of it at his hands. I’d been marred, though the scar on my skin was not the worst damage. It was a reminder of the scar I’d carried inside. Could he erase that scar? Could he heal a wound one could not see?
There was silence, deafening silence. I tried to keep it together. I used every ounce of energy I had to keep the fire at a low flame, but it blazed through me. He would’ve shot my kid, and I couldn’t let that happen. These kids, they’d become my lifeline. My light.
“Without those kids, I’m just as dark as you.” I said emotionlessly, empty. These last few weeks of pretending during the day, only to come home and sob until sleep graced me was maddening. “I’ve got nothing left to give you, J. Nothing.”
I hung my head, losing the fight with the tears that had been threatening to erupt since J arrived. “I can’t be your light, when I have none.”
We lay on the floor, two damaged bodies searching for the light. J pulled my head into his hands, bringing us face to face. I could feel his breath against my lips. “You were a comet that bust into my life out of no where” he whispered. “I begged for you. On my knees in the dirt, I groveled to the sky to bring me light. And there you were, at Eight Oh Eight, staring up at me, even though I knew you couldn’t see through the window. I saw you, though. Elle, I saw you long before you saw me.”
“How could I love a killer?”
“How much pain was worth loving this man?
“Please, baby. Please. I need you. I love you. I can’t go into this without knowing you’ll be here when I return.”
“I’m not sure what to say. I want to tell you I’ll wait. That I’ll be here, waiting like a good girl for you. I want to because I love you. Fuck, I love you.” I turned, finally ready to look him in the eye. “I don’t know where I’ll be. I can’t tell you that. But I can tell you that I love the fuck out of you, and no matter how much I try to stop,” I paused. Fuck this mother fucker. Fuck! God, why was he doing this to me? Angry tears, sad tears, hopeless tears, tears filled with longing fell from my eyes. J caught then with his thumb, but there were too many. They ran over his fingers like a waterfall.
“Fuck, J. I don’t want you to die.”
He pulled me to him, and I inhaled his scent. I’d never be able to smell Acqua di mother fucking Gio again and not think of him. Today it was mixed with the smell of exhaust, like he’d been riding around all night. For what felt like the gazillionth time, I crumbled into his arms. How did two times come to be a number exponentially higher?
“I don’t want to die, baby. I want to fall asleep next to you. I want to wake up next to you. I’m fighting this war for you. To be with you.”

Pages: 200
Genre: Contemporary Romance

BLURB:

Welcome to Evansville, a sleepy Texas town on the verge of a boom.

After growing up in a dying town, with only two restaurants, no movie theater, and no future, waitress Cassidy Simon wants out. For once, luck is on her side when the oil boom comes to South Texas. She’s determined to use it for her advantage, starting up an RV park for the oilfield workers to add to her escape fund. She’s never been out of Texas, and she’s itching for adventure.

Grady McKenna couldn’t get away from his family’s ranch fast enough when he was a teenager, but a tour in the Air Force in the Middle East is enough to convince him there’s no place like home. He’s seen the world, had his adventure. Now he’s ready to contribute to his family’s legacy in Evansville.

Naturally, the woman who draws his attention is the one intent on slipping through his fingers. How can he convince her life with him will be all the adventure she needs?

EXCERPT:
Cassidy. That was her name. He watched her move among the tables, her shoulders tight, and she looked over her shoulder. Shit. He could see by the look on her face that she knew they were talking about her, and the resignation in her eyes told him she was used to it. He shoved an onion ring in his sister’s mouth and shook his head to shut her up.
Sage rolled her eyes and held onto the onion ring as she took a vicious bite out of it. “It’s not like she doesn’t know.”
“Yeah, but—” He shook his head. He didn’t want to talk about her, not when she was in the room, not behind her back. And he would prefer finding out her secrets on her own.
Sage pointed at him with the bitten edge of her onion ring. “She’s a disaster. If you want a nice girl, I can introduce you around.”
“I don’t need my sister to introduce me to women. Especially a woman who admittedly has no life.”
She shrugged, finished the onion ring, then plucked another from the basket. “I’ve got cute friends.”
Cassidy was plenty cute, in those jean shorts, those long legs.
“Thought you didn’t have time for friends.”

The grimace was quick, but he didn’t miss it, and he wondered what had her so shut down.

Wolf Moon: A Grazi Kelly Novel By C. D. Gorri

Description
"Hi. My name is Grazi Kelly. There are things I know are true and things that I never would have guessed. First, demons and witches exist and they are evil. Second, the world is up for grabs and the witches are getting their minions ready. Third, I'm a werewolf and it's my job to stop them."
High school sophomore Grazi Kelly leads an ordinary life in the suburbs of New Jersey helping her grandmother with chores and attending Catholic school. Things are pretty good except for her bullying cousin and the rest of the obnoxious cheer team. Then things take a frightening turn when the night of the full moon arrives and the bodies start piling up. Grazi learns that she is different in ways she never expected. She finds herself torn between Sebastian, the school soccer star and Ronan, a foreign exchange student who shares her secret. She must uncover the identity behind the mysterious attacker, but is she ready for the entire truth?

                 Review
I liked this book a lot. Its a story about a werewolf who is in the dark about herself and when the time came for her to shift she had to deal with a lot of things. Her uncle came to visit out of the blue, she had no prior knowledge of her father's family. Things seemed quite complicated and she was confused about whom to trust or not to trust. And then there were the killings. police ruled it as animal attacks but was that all? Or was there more to the story?
She had a normal teenage life. Mean girls tormenting her and a cute guy she was crushing on. Life wasn't easy as it was but then things got even worse. She was to lead an army of werewolves to fight demons and she was so not ready for that....
This book intrigued me from the very beginning. I loved reading about Grazi and her life. All the supporting characters were well written as well. As book one its clearly a "build up" to the main plot so the story leaves a lot of unanswered questions. But there was no frustrating cliff hanger so people like me can enjoy it (I just don't like cliff hanger).

I will recommend this book to any paranormal fiction's fan. Its worth a read!!

Blurb
This epic novel, first in the Land of Dragor series, transports the reader to the magical Land of Dragor, where seven dragon clans live hidden from man.
Their great wars with humans and evil dragsaurs are over and the dragons live peacefully among the smoking mud pools and around The Fire Which Must Never Go Out, but the terrible years when they were enslaved by humans have left a lasting scar and they are told they can never soar above the mountains and leave their safe haven to explore the outside world.
There is unease in the air of their mist-filled valley, and the coming of a strange egg heralds a new era. Unlike the normal delicate lilac, this shell is multi-coloured like the contents of a treasure chest.
The newborn hatchling is called Yoshiko, but he is immediately treated with suspicion by the elders, and is lucky to survive. The last time a coloured egg was laid, legendary warrior leader Surion was born from a red shell, and with his gift of fire the dragons went to battle with the humans. Will Yoshiko bring a blessing to the clans, or a curse? Could Dragor be about to meet its saviour, or its destroyer?

Review
A beautifully written fantasy about dragons. This story is about a land where dragons live in peace and harmony, ok so may be not exactly in harmony as some dragons thinks pretty highly of themselves and want to be rulers instead of Surion's clan. But they are hidden from human sight and are living their lives in peace for sure. Each dragon clan hold a unique place in their community and within each clan all the dragons share their colour and traits. Except one youngling. Who is unlike any dragon in his clan. In fact he is unlike any dragon in whole of Dragor. Born from a strange rainbow coloured egg, Yoshiko has odd abilities. He can change colours, mysterious twins gave him a stone and he even visits the mountain where Guya (another dragon everyone avoids) lives in isolation.
Yoshiko is eager to overcome his flaws and learn as much about his land as possible. He is bullied my some students at the fire school but soon he learns to ignore the snide comments of other younglings. The book holds important lessons for young readers.
The scenes are so well written that at times one can almost forget that its a fantasy. All the character are well defined and likable. I really enjoyed reading it and I think its a 5-Star book, all in all. Although it is written for young readers, adults can enjoy it as well. The mysterious beginning of the story, a fantasy world, and superb plot, all makes it a perfect read. I will recommend it to all fantasy lovers. In fact even if you weren't a fantasy lover you should try this book and you might count yourself one.
P.S. I also loved the cover. Its beautiful and intriguing.

About Author
Julia grew up listening to the magical sounds of fair rides and animals from a theme park just across from her home in Staffordshire, England. A love of reading, nature and the outdoors fed her imagination and inspired her to become a storyteller.
She has a degree in business studies and creative writing as well as studying speech and drama at the' London School of Music'.

Other interesting facts about Julia:
*Julia has a male harlequin rabbit called ‘Mr. Fancy Business’ who is quite a character. His name truly sums him up. He has a bedroom all to himself that is set up with lots of boxes as hide-outs – very much like a warren. The neighbours cat ‘Lola’ often sits at the window teasing him, clearly wanting him for dinner. But, he seems to do fancy flicks all the more when he sees her, knowing he is in the safety of home. Fancy Business loves to eat banana. One day when Julia was eating one and he jumped up and pestered her crazily for some. If ever he has a treat now he has some banana from her instead of carrot!

*Julia has a gold plated desk in herbedroom which she feel adds magic to her writing.

*Her guilty pleasure is coffee with a big slice of coffee cake (caffeine addict ~ lol).

‘It was during the time that my son was at junior school that I was inspired to write the first novel.  Ideas came flooding to me. I had been thinking back to the wonderful vintage books I had read and wishing there were more like this - yet with unique edge and an interactive web presence. I knew first hand what parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles were looking for when purchasing a book for their children, but more than that, I knew also what they sought themselves. Readers want gripping action, loads of adventure - all the classic aspects of  heroes and villains, quests and hangars and the hope of happy endings.

I wanted to write books with universal appeal, that were fantastical and yet in many ways real to today; to fulfill the expectations of book lovers and hook a non-reader back into reading.  For me this had to be in the form of a series, set in and a place we would all like to visit  - and so the Land of Dragor came to be.
