Through the Fog

Synopsis

Adalind Carter finds herself in search of a new nursing assignment. She finally gets her wish when given an opportunity to travel to England for the private care of Evan Jacob Frederick, the Duke of Warlington, who is showing signs of awakening from a two month long coma. Lying quickly becomes part of her job description, but falling for him wasn’t. She knows something that could shatter his world, but telling him the truth could break his heart. Can she do as she is asked and keep this secret from him--one that she knows will be devastating? And can she provide the care he needs without giving into her desires? ...Only time will tell.

Review

I loved it! It's an interesting read. I loved the fact that it managed to surprise me with twists and turns in the story, that doesn't happen often.

Adalind is a long way from home. But when the opportunity to travel arises she thought of it as a chance and took it. Now she is taking care of a Duke who has been in coma for a while. She can see that no one has taken good care of him. So now as his nurse it's up to her to bring her patient back to life. Everyone at his estate welcomes her. She isn't having such a bad time. But there are a lot of things which aren't making any sense and soon she becomes too attached to the Duke to think straight. Will she be able to help him or will she end up hurting him as well as herself? That's yet to be determined...

Evan wakes up with no recollection of the accident that put him in coma. He is having problems sleeping and there is something constantly nagging at him, some forgotten memory that is trying to resurface. Then there is his nurse, Adalind, she is a sweet soul and he is starting to depend on her a little too much...

Soon ghosts of the past will come back to haunt them but for now Adalind and Evan are exploring their budding relationship...

The story flows smoothly and it kept me interested from the very beginning until the end. I loved that secondary characters are just as amazing and well-written as the main ones. Overall it's a very good story and definitely worth the read. :)
